The Commission
Minister Sondria McWilliams
September 2026
Although there is nothing greater than sonship, there is a commission given to you and I that will require the heart to be established in the word of God. The commission given to Joshua to possess the land, gave him the power and authority to perform various acts and duties on behalf of God; The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Joshua’s mission at that time was to possess the land.
The commission that was given to us also came with power and authority through Christ Jesus. He commissioned us to make disciples, to teach and to baptize. We can enjoy fulfilling our mission when we meditate on the word of God day and night as spoken to Joshua in verse 1:8 and written in Psalms 1:1-3.
I love what Joshua’s heart got to hear before he accomplished his mission. God says, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”. “I will be with you wherever you go.” What does our heart need to hear before we can accomplish our mission? Jesus spoke, “I am with you always, even until the end of this age.” He is not just with us but in us.
~As with Joshua, He will make our way prosperous and we will have good success.
Be blessed,
Min. Sondria
NOTES: No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you, nor for sake you. (Joshua 1:5)
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, “teaching them to observe all the things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20)
If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:29)
